All Brightsight CC evaluations recognised up to EAL7
All CC evaluations of Brightsight are now recognised in many European countries at all security assurance levels. Previously, only the evaluations performed under the German Common Criteria Certification Body BSI were recognised, but since 15 January 2009 NSCIB, the Dutch Common Criteria Certification Body, has been accepted as certificate authorising body under the SOGIS-MRA.  For manufacturers this means that all products evaluated by Brightsight can be certified on for example EAL4+, EAL5+ or even EAL7+ and be recognised within most of Europe.
Brightsight is proud to be the a lab operating under the SOGIS agreement providing maximum support to its clients. Examples of products that Brightsight evaluates are IC, e-Passports, smart card payment applications and Host Security Modules.
NSCIB is a collaboration between TNO Certification and the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs. Until now NSCIB was part of the Common Criteria Recognition Agreement (CCRA) that arranged recognition of certificates up to the level of EAL4. See for more information www.commoncriteriaportal.org.

SOGIS is the Senior Officials Group – Information Systems Security which is a body of the European Commission. This group has signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) to recognise certificates on IT-Security evaluation from other countries. The SOGIS-MRA is an agreement to recognise Common Criteria certificates of other countries for all Evaluation Assurance Levels (EAL1 up to EAL7). This means that the CC certificates of NSCIB are recognised by Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The only other countries that have the same privilege are France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Brightsight is licensed by NSCIB and BSI. A special logo of the SOGIS MRA is added to NSCIB certificates that are issued from 15 January 2009.The highest Evaluation Assurance Levels shows that Brightsight as evaluation lab performs state of the art penetration tests on hardware products and on hardware with related software products. Examples of Brightsight's evaluation methods on contact and contactless cards are EMA/DEMA, DPA and Light manipulation. For more information, please contact info@brightsight.com
