Back in 1989, Brightsight started evaluating smart card security for the banking industry. Ever since, we have been investing in our knowledge and expertise on smart card security.

Our expertise includes native card operating systems as well as Java Card and MULTOS for both contact and contactless technology. State-of-the-art analysis techniques such as side-channel attacks, perturbation attacks and logical attacks are included in our security evaluations of smart card products.

Brightsight  has vast experience in smart card products for the banking industry, but also telecom (SIM/USIM), transport, PayTV and ID (e-passport) smart card applications have been evaluated in our labs.  

For many years we  have been accredited by the banking industry including international organisations like MasterCard, VISA, American Express, JCB, Interpay, Cartes Bancaires, ZKA, Banksys, Telekurs and APACS. Furthermore, Brightsight  offers Common Criteria evaluations of smart card products under the Dutch, German and Norway CC scheme.

Apart from type approval services Brightsight can support vendors with training, analysis tools and specific developer support before and during the actual development process of a secure smart card product.
