Delft, 16 January 2020. Brightsight is proud to announce that we helped Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. obtain a Common Criteria (CC) EAL4+ certificate within 4 months after application. The certificate was issued by the Dutch CC Scheme (NSCIB) and covers Check Point’s R80.30 firmware.

On 25 June 2019, Check Point contacted Brightsight with an ambitious request. In order to seize a significant commercial opportunity, Check Point needed to obtain a CC EAL4+ certificate before the end of 2019. To increase the feasibility of the project, Brightsight organised a scoping workshop at Check Point to determine which configuration would meet the requirements of Check Point's commercial opportunity. This configuration was the starting point for the actual evaluation, which began in September 2019. An unprecedented acceleration strategy was used, aimed at compressing the typical evaluation timeline of approximately one year to just a few months. The strategy consisted of extensive interaction with the client through several workshops at Check Point and an efficient project governance structure, including senior management sponsorship at both ends. This approach and the support of NSCIB, which was able and willing to accommodate these short timelines, made it possible to issue the CC certificate to Check Point on 24 December 2019.

Mr. Gera Dorfman (VP, Network Security Products at Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd.): "Back in July, my colleague told me that if we wanted to get this certification fast, there was only one company that could do it, and advised me to talk to Brightsight. He was right."

Mr. Wim Seinen (SVP Systems at Brightsight B.V.): "It was a big challenge, but also a great pleasure to help Checkpoint with their business opportunities through a wonderful team of evaluators. It was a solid team result for both Checkpoint and Brightsight, with the professional support of a consultant and the Dutch NSCIB scheme."
