July 7th, 2020. Brightsight congratulates BBPOS on achieving PCI SPoC approval for their WisePIN™ solution that is developed to run on iOS platforms. This WisePIN SPoC solution makes use of the PCI PTS certified BBPOS SCRP (Secure Card Reader PIN) named 'WiseCube™', and facilitates use of Commercial of The Shelf (COTS which is the merchant Mobile Device) as PIN entry device for a secure payment solution. Brightsight is honored to be selected by BBPOS for performing the software-based PCI SPoC security evaluation of this innovative payment solution.
The PCI program 'Software-based PIN Entry on COTS' (SPoC), also known in the market as PIN on Mobile, enables merchants to accept true EMV-based transactions, both contact and contactless, with the option of PIN entry on COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf) devices, such as smartphones and tablets. The PCI SPoC (Software-based Payment on COTS) program is introduced in 2019. The WisePIN approval is the first PCI SPoC approval issued for BBPOS, only the fourth supplier to be listed. Brightsight hopes that many more BBPOS approvals will follow.
