The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards council (SSC) was founded in 2006 by American Express, Discover, JCB International, MasterCard and Visa Inc. One of their security programs is the Payment Terminal Security (PTS) program, an internationally adopted standard for secure payment terminals. The participating payment brands of PCI SCC encourage the use of secure payment terminals with PCI PTS approval, as this program is the leading industry standard worldwide.
Version 5.X was released in September 2016 and contains the most up-to-date security demands for future-proof risk management in the payments industry.
