Delft, July 27th: Today Brightsight B.V. announces the retirement of one of the company’s CEOs, Jan Pieters, who has decided to retire effective August 1, 2016.

Jan’s retirement will bring to a close a remarkable career of nearly 30 years of continuous service to Brightsight.

“Jan started working in the area of security evaluations at TNO. Together, we grew Brightsight from a small company, as a spin-off of TNO, to the current number one security lab in the world”, says Dirk-Jan Out, CEO at Brightsight. “We are grateful for his leadership and his innumerable contributions to the company.”

“Founding Brightsight was an exciting adventure, which turned out very well”, says Jan Pieters. “I feel privileged to have been able to lead the greatest security lab in the world with a wonderful and very talented team. Now it is time for me to move on, although I will remain connected to Brightsight as a major shareholder. I know that the company is in good hands with the current management team.”

Jan’s place will be filled by Ernst Bovelander, who, as Chief Business Officer, will run the daily operations of Brightsight together with Dirk-Jan Out, CEO of Brightsight. The change in management neither affects the way Brightsight works nor changes the vision for the future. Brightsight aims to maintain its position in the market as well as its reputation of reliability and efficiency.

Ernst also started his career at TNO and has been working in the field of information security ever since. In June 2015 he returned to Brightsight in the position of Director Business Development. “I look forward to continuing the good work of Jan and further developing the company”, says Ernst.
