Strengthening security for the data center AI infrastructure ecosystems
Brightsight, a leading security evaluation laboratory, today announced its approval as an Open Compute Project (OCP) Security Appraisal Framework and Enablement (S.A.F.E.) Security Review Provider (SRP). This significant milestone positions Brightsight as a trusted third-party to conduct crucial security evaluations for hardware and software solutions within the rapidly expanding data center and AI infrastructure market.
The OCP is a global community focused on designing and enabling the delivery of efficient and scalable data center hardware. Driven by the demands of high-performance computing and the burgeoning field of Artificial Intelligence, the OCP ecosystem attracts major technology providers. While historically focused on speed and performance, the OCP is increasingly recognizing the critical importance of security through its S.A.F.E. program.
As an approved OCP S.A.F.E. SRP, Brightsight will provide independent security reviews and evaluations, primarily focusing on software (including code and design reviews) and hardware components destined for data center environments. This service will help ensure the security posture of solutions offered by companies within the OCP community.
Xavi Vilarrubla, CEO at Brightsight, said: “We are thrilled to be recognized by the Open Compute Project as an approved Security Review Provider. The OCP community is at the forefront of innovation in the data center and AI space, and security is paramount to its continued growth and success. Brightsight is committed to leveraging our expertise to provide rigorous evaluations that contribute to a more secure and resilient infrastructure.”
In more detail, Brightsight’s role as an OCP S.A.F.E. SRP will involve acting as a third-party auditor, conducting evaluations for a wide range of technologies. computing, independent security validation is becoming increasingly vital. Our approval as an OCP S.A.F.E. SRP provides these organizations with a trusted partner to ensure the security of their offerings, fostering greater confidence and adoption within the OCP community.
About the Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP)
The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) was initiated in 2011 with a mission to apply the benefits of open source and open collaboration to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in, near and around the data center’s networking, server, storage and appliance infrastructure. The OCP’s 80+ Project Groups are led by individual contributors from around the world with one goal, to create open specifications and project reference designs in hardware and software that are being deployed at scale across the globe. OCP Members include hyperscale data center operators, colocation providers and enterprises, as well as innovative component and solution suppliers. The current OCP Foundation Board includes representatives from Meta, Microsoft, Intel, Dell Technologies and Google.
