Brightsight's facility in Singapore formally recognized by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standard Council (SSC) to conduct security evaluations using the PCI MPoC Standard.

We are pleased to announce that Brightsight's laboratory in Singapore has been officially recognized by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standard Council (SSC) to conduct security evaluations using the PCI Mobile Payments on Commercial Off-the-Shelf (MPoC) Standard. With this achievement, Singapore becomes Brightsight’s third testing facility to earn this prestigious recognition, following our Delft laboratory in the Netherlands, recognized in 2023, and our Meyreuil laboratory in France, recognized earlier this year.

Brightsight Singapore is the first PCI MPoC-recognized lab in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This recognition puts Singapore and the ASEAN region on the PCI map for advanced mobile payment security.

"Having a local PCI MPoC-recognized lab means vendors and fintechs in Asia can now benefit from faster evaluations, communication in local languages, and a better understanding of regional culture and market dynamics."

With this new recognition, Brightsight strengthens its leadership in payment security evaluation with as a goal to support the growing mobile payment ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region.

Why MPoC matters

The PCI SSC introduced the MPoC standard in 2022 to address the growing demand for secure mobile payments on everyday devices like smartphones and tablets. It plays a pivotal role in protecting transactions across global networks such as Visa and Mastercard.

Whether you're building payment apps or managing the systems behind them, following the MPoC standard helps protect users and businesses from fraud. It ensures that mobile payments are not only convenient but also meet the latest security and compliance requirements. Developers, SDK providers, and back-end service integrators adopting MPoC can proactively address security threats, streamline certification processes, and contribute to a more resilient mobile payment ecosystem.
