The first EUCC certification from the Netherlands secured by Brightsight

Brightsight is proud to announce we have successfully completed our first (level “high”) EUCC evaluation of the NXP® Semiconductors’ composite platform using NXP’s SN300 secure element, leading to an EUCC certificate issued by TrustCB under the Dutch NCCA. This achievement marks two milestones: it is the first EUCC certification from the Netherlands as well as the first EUCC certificate issued under the new CC:2022 release. This certificate is also the first instance of an embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) to be certified under the new European Cybersecurity Certification scheme.

The EUCC (European Cybersecurity Certification scheme on Common Criteria) is a certification framework established under the EU Cybersecurity Act (CSA). Its purpose is to standardise the evaluation and recognition of IT product security within the EU, replacing national schemes such as the Dutch NSCIB. In May 2025, Brightsight became an official IT Security Evaluation Facility (ITSEF) under the CSA, authorizing all five European labs to conduct independent security evaluations of IT products under the EUCC.

Brightsight has been recognised as a leading Common Criteria laboratory in the past five years. This development supports our ongoing role in IT security evaluations, particularly within the European cybersecurity certification framework. It also demonstrates the laboratory's ability to operate under the new EU-wide certification scheme. By joining the EUCC ecosystem, we contribute our expertise in verifying products’ security and so building digital trust, which enhances SGS’s global Digital Trust portfolio.
