The first baby monitor awarded the SGS Cybersecurity Mark

Brightsight evaluates Owlet Dream Sight™ against RED cybersecurity requirements, allowing it to become the first baby monitor to carry the SGS Cybersecurity Product Certification Mark.

We are proud to announce that Brightsight has successfully completed its first-ever evaluation of a baby monitor in compliance with the European Union (EU) Radio Equipment Directive (RED) cybersecurity requirements – Articles 3.3 (d) and (e).

Following our assessment, the Owlet Dream Sight™ has become the first baby monitor to receive the SGS Cybersecurity Mark.

Owlet Dream Care, Inc. selected Brightsight to conduct an IoT security evaluation of its advanced Owlet Dream Sight™ baby monitor in accordance with the EN 18031-1 and EN 18031-2 standards. The assessment results verified the product’s compliance with the RED (2014/53/EU) cybersecurity requirements – Articles 3.3 (d) and (e). Following the successful security evaluation, the product was formally certified by our partner and European Commission (EC)-accredited Notified Body, SGS Fimko Oy, which issued the official certificate. 


Owlet Dream Sight has become the first baby monitor to ever be awarded the SGS Cybersecurity Mark. This recognition demonstrates that the product meets all requirements within a defined subset of internationally recognized cybersecurity standards, including the relevant provisions of RED.

With this achievement, Owlet’s Dream Sight is now authorized to display the SGS Cybersecurity Mark, signifying independent verification of its cybersecurity strength and overall product reliability. Beyond regulatory compliance, this mark helps differentiate the product in competitive, fragmented, global markets and enhances consumer transparency through an integrated QR code, enabling users to easily verify certification details and build greater trust in the product. 

By earning this certification, Owlet Dream Sight sets a new industry benchmark for cybersecurity, trust and safety in infant monitoring – highlighting the importance of secure, reliable technology in the connected home.
