As of September 1, SGS Brightsight has strengthened the portfolio by providing Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-3 conformance testing services through our team at Penumbra Security. The addition of FIPS to our existing suite of services within the high assurance domain, supports and strengthen our expansion within the USA.

FIPS was established in 1996 under the Information Technology Reform Act and the Computer Security Act and became the responsibility of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NIST authorized and developed the respective FIPS standards and guidelines to be used by Federal organizations that utilize cryptographic-based security systems (cryptographic modules) for the protection of sensitive but unclassified information.

Penumbra Security prides itself on its vast expertise and extensive knowledge of cryptographic module conformance testing (FIPS), postage evidencing system security, IT infrastructure security auditing and penetration testing, in addition to many other specialized areas.

SGS Brightsight is the largest independent security evaluation company in the world with a global network of security laboratories in The Netherlands, France, Spain, Austria, China, Singapore, Taiwan and the USA.  SGS Brightsight continues to expand security services by investing in multiple formal accreditation programs and locations worldwide.
